A baby dedication is a ceremony in which Christian parents make a commitment before the Lord and the church to raise their child (children) according to God's word and God's ways. It is different from that of an infant baptism in that the commitment is being made by the parents, not the child. We believe that baptism is meant to be an individual’s personal choice, at an age where they can decide for themselves to believe in and follow Jesus Christ; whereas baby dedication is the parents choosing to raise, love, and pray for their child in the way that God asks them to.
